As Calvin Harris sounded off on Twitter about ex Taylor Swift  finally confirming she secretly helped write and sing his new hit "This Is What You Came For" under a pseudonym, Katy Perryand the presidential contender suddenly got caught up in the mix.
His tweets were complimentary toward the "Shake It Off" songstress at first, calling the Grammy winner an "amazing lyric writer" and stating that she "smashed it as usual." However, the comments quickly turned messy as Harris questioned why Taylor suddenly wanted the public to know about her work on the track.
"I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym..Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though," Harris continued. "I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do."
After discreetly broaching the topic of Swift's new beau Tom Hiddleston, Harris threw another subtle jab at her unclear relationship with Katy Perry. "I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry," he declared. "I won't allow it."
Perry and Swift have been reportedly feuding for years— a fight that allegedly inspired Taylor's hit "Bad Blood." She told Rolling Stone in 2014 that she was singing about an unidentified female artist who had done something "so horrible" to her business-wise. Hours after the Rolling Stone interview went live, Perry curiously tweeted, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..."
However, a year later, Swift walked back on her comments, insisting to GQ that the song was really about the generic loss of a friendship and that she had concocted the story so people would not assume she was singing about an ex-boyfriend.
